The SBDI-The Brazilian Society of Information Design Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are specific forums for the discussion and promotion of a particular theme related to information design, and it is formed by SBDI members. The SIGs aim to bring new energy to the Society and greater integration of its members, providing opportunities for their active participation in the SBDI.
The Special Interest Groups acts through activities to disseminate specific knowledge, considering research, teaching and professional activities within the scope of their theme. As examples of the Groups' activities are seminars/webinars, discussion, and interviews, as well as Group meetings to address issues related to research/education/professional activities of its members which were identified as relevant demands by Group.
Each Group develops its own activities, which must occur in the period between the biennial events of the SBDI: The International Conferences of Information Design. The official conference program will have a slot and a space designated for each Group's meeting to provide an opportunity at the event to publicize the activities of the Groups, and the participation of new members.
The Groups are composed by researchers/professionals affiliated to the SBDI-The Brazilian Society of Information Design for a minimum period of two years covering the biennial events: the International Conferences of Information Design (e.g., membership from 2023 to 2025). This will allow members to effectively participate in the Group activities between events and at the events.
Each Group is led by two co-chairs chosen by the Group's members during their meeting at each International Conference of Information Design, with the possibility of reappointing leadership. The Group's co-chairs are responsible for articulating the Group members and promoting activities, and also for communicating with the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board of the SBDI.
